Materials

  • DK or 8ply yarn in purple (or any colour gem you’d like!)
    • 3.5 mm crochet hook
    • Stitch marker, tapestry needle and scissors
    • Polyfill

    sc: single crochet
    fp-sc: front post single crochet
    st: stitch
    *…*: repeat
    inc: 2 single crochet in the same stitch
    sc3inc: 3 single crochet in the same stitch
    dec: single crochet 2 stitches together through the front loop only (invisible decrease)
    sc3tog: single crochet 3 stitched together
    BLO: back loop only

    Finished size: approx. 5 cm

    All pieces are worked through both loops of the stitches and in the round without joining unless stated otherwise in the pattern. It is recommended to use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round.

    Round 1. sc 6 in a magic ring (6)
    Round 2. sc3inc x6 (18)
    Round 3. *sc 1, sc3inc, sc 1* x6 (30)
    Round 4. in BLO, sc in each st around (30)
    Round 5. *sc 2, sc3inc, sc 2* x6 (42)
    Round 6. in BLO, *sc 2, sc3tog, sc 2* x6 (30)
    Rounds 7-8. *sc 2, fp-sc 1, sc 2* x6 (30)
    Round 9. *dec, fp-sc 1, sc 2* x6 (24)
    Round 10. *sc 1, fp-sc 1, sc 2* x6 (24)
    Round 11. *sc 1, fp-sc 1, dec* x6 (18)

    Do not finish the round and stuff the gem now. The new round will start in the next stitch. Move stitch marker accordingly.
