Crochet Rainy Day Bunny

Materials
To make the rainy day bunny you will need:
– A 2.5mm crochet hook
– Yarns in your colors of choice (I used grey for the bunny, yellow for the coat, light brown, pink and light green for the umbrella)
– A tapestry needle and scissors
– Stuffing
– Safety eyes
– Pipe cleaner and wire for the umbrella handle
– A stitch marker to help you keep track of the start of the round
Please note that you can make the rainy day bunny using any size crochet hook and yarn weight for a smaller or bigger result. I like using DK as it’s most commonly available. If you make amigurumi, it is usually recommended to go down a bit from the recommended hook size for the yarn to allow for a no-hole look (we don’t want to see the stuffing show through in between stitches)! Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm crochet hook, the bunny should be about 20cm tall.

To make the sleeves, insert your hook into any stitch of one of the arm holes and create 10 single crochets, going into the backside of the chains from round 2/3, the unworked stitches from round 2, and the in-between-gaps. For the shorter arm, I did 8 rounds total of 10 sc each, for the longer arm I did 10.

Assembly
To assemble our cute little bunny, sew the head to the body first, making sure the wider side is facing front/back. Fold the ears together at the bottom and sew them to the head. Sew on the arms and then the tail. Sew the hood to the back of the coat, then put on the coat (you might need to pull and stretch the arms a bit to get them through the sleeves). Sew the umbrella handle to the umbrella, then sew the handle to the arms. Done!
