FLOWER FLOPPY HAT CROCHET PATTERN

Make a magic ring

Round 1: ch 1, 8 esc in ring (8 esc)

Do not join. Continue in next round working in the first stitch of round 1. Place stitch marker in the first esc of the next round.

Round 2: 2 esc blo in each stitch around (16 esc)

Continue to move the stitch marker to the first stitch of each round.

Round 3: *esc blo in 1 stitch, 2 esc blo in next* repeat from * to * around (24 esc)

Round 4: *esc blo in 2 stitches, 2 esc blo in next* repeat from * to * around (32 esc)

Round 5: *esc blo in 3 stitches, 2 esc blo in next* repeat from * to * around (40 esc)

Round 6: *esc blo in 4 stitches, 2 esc blo in next* repeat from * to * around (48 esc)

Round 7: *esc blo in 5 stitches, 2 esc blo in next* repeat from * to * around (56 esc)

Round 8: *esc blo in 6 stitches, 2 esc blo in next* repeat from * to * around (64 esc)

Make a magic circle

Round 1: ch 2, 12 dc in circle, pull circle closed tight, join to first dc with sl st (12 dc)

Round 2: ch 1, (hdc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 2 dc, hdc) all in first dc, sc in next dc, *(hdc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 2 dc, hdc) all in next dc, sc in next dc* repeat from * to * around, join to first hdc with sl st (6 “petals”)

Fasten off.

Leave a long end for sewing.

SEWING

On the last stitch of the hat there is a long end for sewing. Fold up the brim to round 16. Sew where it is folded.

Weave in all the ends on the hat.

Place the flower right where the fold is. Use the long end of the flower to sew the flower to the hat.

Weave in all the ends.
