Crochet I love A Parade Dishcloth

Materials:

RH 4 ply Color A = Aran, Color B = Country Blue, Color C = Country Rose

Crochet Hook: Size F or size needed for gauge.

Gauge: Square = 6".

Note:

Skill level: Intermediate.

Blocking: Block lightly and briefly with a warm damp pressing cloth on the reverse side of the square with a med-hot iron.

Instructions

Note: To change color draw new color through last two loops of old color Drop and carry old color along side of heart.

Beginning:

With Color C and size F hook, ch 2.

Row 1:

Work 2 sc in second st from hook. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2:

Sc in next 2 sts. Drop Color C. Join Color A by drawing through last two loops of last st. Ch 1, turn. Carry unused yarn along edge of work.

Row 3:

Work 2 sc in each of the two sts. 4 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Row 4:

Sc across 4 sts. Drop Color A. Join Color C, ch 1, turn.

Row 5:

Increase by working 2 sc's in first and last stitches. Ch 1, turn. 6 stitches.

Row 6:

Sc across, change to Color A. Ch 1, turn.

Row 7:

Continue in this manner until there are 7 stripes. 4 Color C stripes, 3 Color A stripes. FO Color C and Color A. 14 sts at end of Row 14. Attach Color B. Ch 1, turn.

Row 15: (Wrong side)

Work 2 sc in first st, work sc in next 6 sts. Drop Color B, join Color A. Make sure to keep unused yarn to wrong side of work. Work sc across 6 st. 2 sc in last st. Ch 1 turn.

Row 16: (Right side)

With Color A work 8 sc, FO Color A, finish last sc with Color B. With Color B work 8 sc. Ch 1, turn.

Row 17:

With Color B work 2 sc in first st, sc in next 7 sts, join Color C and sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. 18 sts.

Row 18:

Work across 9 sc with Color C, work 9 sc with Color B. FO Color C. Ch 1, turn.

Row 19:

Work across 9 sc with Color B, work 9 sc with Color A. Ch 1, turn.

Row 20:

Work across 9 sc with Color A. FO Color A. Work 9 sc with Color B.

Row 21:

(Separation row). Work 2 sc tog in Color B, work sc in next 5 sts, sc last two sts tog, drop Color B from hook. Join Color C, sc 2 sts tog, sc in next 5 sts, sc last two sts. tog. Ch 1, turn.

Row 22:

Sc 2 st tog, sc in next 3 sts, sc 2 st tog with Color C, work other half of heart in Color B in same way. Ch 1, turn.

Row 23:

Sc 2 st tog, sc, sc 2 st tog. Repeat for other half of heart. FO Color C and Color B, leaving long tails for sewing.

Background Square:

With size F hook and Color A, ch 25.

Row 1:

Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2:

Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Continue Row 2 until square measures 6 inches.

Do not FO. Work 3 sc in corner, pick up and sc 20 across each side.

Finish off and weave in ends.
