Knit 3 rows of 1 x 1 rib.

1st row: selvedge st, * purl, yarn over* to end of row, finish depending on even or odd quantity of sts you need, in first case make yarn over, in second - yarn over, purl, selvedge st. Turn your work.

2nd row: sts in the previous row, that you knit with purls, now knit them as knit sts, slip yarn overs as purls, yarn is in front of the loop. Turn your work.

Then repeat only 2nd row, make 4 more rows (two rows in one side, two - the other side). The quantity of rows can be more, if you make fewer rows, the edge will be very loose.

7th row: selvedge st, * purl, slip knit st on the auxiliary needle in front of your work, purl, knit the st from the auxiliary needle, knit st* to end of row. Turn your work.

8th row: selvedge st, * 2 purls, 2 knit sts* to end of row. Turn and knit the needed quantity of rows.

After 7th row you can change your needles to double pointed needles and knit densely in circle (cuffs, neck hole, bottom part of your work).
