Crochet Tote Bag Free Pattern
Body
With MC, chain 140, join with a slip stitch to the beginning chain; make sure not to have a twist.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around, join with a sl st to the beginning chain. 140 sc
Round 2: In BLO, Ch 4 (counts as the first dc + ch 1, here and throughout), *skip next st, dc in next st, ch 1, repeat from * to the end, join with a sl st to the 3rd ch beginning ch. 70 dc/ch sps
Round 3: Ch 4, *skip next ch sp, dc in next st, ch 1, rep from * around, join with a sl st to the beginning chain. 70 dc/ch sps
Rounds 4 – 8: Rep Round 3.
Round 9: Ch 1, sc in each st/ch around, join with a sl st to the beginning chain. 140 sc.
Repeat rounds 2 – 9 Three more times.
Bag Base
Rounds 1 – 5: Ch 2, dc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning chain. 140 dc.
Sew the lower end together with a slip stitch or single crochet.
Handle
Join CC with a slip stitch to start the foundation chain.
Round 1 – 3: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning chain. 140 hdc
Split for the handle
Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in first 15 sts, chain 50, skip next 40 sts, hdc in next 30 sts, chain 50, skip next 40 sts, hdc in the remaining Stitch, join with a sl st to the beginning chain.
Round 5: Ch 3, dc in each st, including the chain spaces, join with a sl st to the beginning chain.
Rounds 6 – 8: Ch 3, dc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning chain.
Round 9: Ch 1, crab stitch around, join.
Fasten off, and weave in all ends.
