Tom Turkey
Size: approximately 4 inches tall
Materials:
- Worsted Weight Yarn. I used Red Heart Super Saver in Brown, Yellow, Vibrant Orange and Red
- Size G Hook
- Stitch marker (I use a small piece of a contrasting color yarn)
- 4 mm Wiggle Eyes – 2
- Small amount of fiberfill
Gauge: Not important
Abbreviations: sc = single crochet, ch = chain, st = stitch, sl st = slip stitch
Body Back
Notes: Rounds are worked in continuous spirals, do not join. Do not turn at the end of each round.
- With brown, ch 2
- 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Mark first st for beginning of round and move marker up for each round.
- 2 sc in each sc – 16
- In back loops only, sc in each sc – 16 (Crocheting in the back loops leaves a round of loops for you to join the red feathers to.)
- Finish off.
Body Front
Notes: Rounds are worked in continuous spirals, do not join. Do not turn at the end of each round.
- With brown, ch 2
- 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Mark first st for beginning of round and move marker up for each round.
- 2 sc in each sc – 16
- In back loops only, sc in each sc – 16
- For this round grab the front of the body and sew halves together with sc’s, in the back loop of the front body front and in the front loop of the body back. (This leaves a round of loops on the body back for you to join the yellow feathers to. The orange feathers will be joined onto the back loop of the joining sc’s.)
- Stuff with fiberfill when you have a small opening between front and back still open.
- At end of last round finish off and weave in yarn ends.

Assembly
- Body should already be stuffed and single crocheted together.
- Red, yellow and orange feathers should already be attached.
- Attach wattle to neck.
- Attach the beak to head/neck piece. I attached it by feeding the yarn ends all the way through the back of the head and once the beak was in a good position, I glued it on with a low temp glue gun. Then I cut the yarn ends and poked them into the head.
- Sew the head/neck piece to the body.
- Sew the legs on.
- Glue on eyes. I used a low temp glue gun
