Materials Used8 skeins of Caron Simply Soft Autumn Red (6 oz skeins) (I used almost every inch of the 8 skeins)
Hook Size L
MeasurementsGauge: 2 inches = 3 V-doubles (6 dc of pattern stitch)Sizing: 3x-4xMeasurements: Back: 23" long, 33" width from under arms across the back. 15" sleeve with edging. 25 1/2" from neck to end of sleeve with edging. Back of neck opening 15".
NotesThis is made with 2 strands held tog throughout.

Back Rectangle:

Row 1: Ch 70, 2dc in the 4th ch from the hook. *Skip a st, 2dc in next st. Repeat from * across. End with a dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, 2dc in middle of 2dc from the previous row. *2dc in the middle of the next 2dc from the previous row. Repeat from *. End with a dc. Turn.

Rows 3-32: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off and leave approx. 20" to sew seam.

Front: Make 2:

Row 1: Ch 36, 2dc in the 4th ch from the hook. *Skip a st, 2dc in next st. Repeat from * across. End with a dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, 2dc in middle of 2dc from the previous row. *2dc in the middle of the next 2dc from the previous row. Repeat from *. End with a dc. Turn.

Rows 3-32: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off and leave approx. 20" to sew seam.

Sleeves: Make 2:

Row 1: Ch 50, 2dc in the 4th ch from the hook. *Skip a st, 2dc in next st. Repeat from * across. End with a dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, 2dc in middle of 2dc from the previous row. *2dc in the middle of the next 2dc from the previous row. Repeat from *. End with a dc. Turn.

Rows 3-23: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off and leave approx. 20" to sew seam.

Now to sew tog....I sewed up shoulders first. 11 1/2" of shoulders sewn up on both sides with 4 1/2" of the front not sewn. I took the back and one front piece and sewed the shoulder. Then I sewed the other side.

Now sew the sleeves seams, it will make a circle. Then sew the sleeves onto the cardigan. After the sleeves, I sewed each of the side seams.

I edged the neckline with sc. Then down the front sides of the cardigan, I did 5dc shell, sc, 5dc shell down. I had 12 shells on either side. For the sleeves and the bottom, I did 2 rows of 2dc, ch 3, 2dc. For the first row of each, I did 2dc, ch 3, 2dc skipped 2 sts and then repeated. When I went back for the second row, I did the 2dc, ch 3, 2dc in the previous row's ch 3 sp.
