Special Abbreviation

- Aster flower
Slip 5 sts to right hand needle dropping extra loops, slip these 5 sts back to left hand needle, (purl 1, yo, purl 1, yo, purl 1) into all 5 sts together.

Pattern

With colour A cast on a multiple of 6 sts + 1.

Row 1 - wrong side: Colour A, knit all sts.

Row 2 - right side: Colour B, sl 1, * K5 - wrapping yarn twice around needle for each st, sl 1; repeat from * to end.

Row 3: Colour B, sl 1, * aster flower, sl 1; repeat from * to end.

Row 4: Colour A, k1, *k5, knit next stitch with the loose strand behind; repeat from * to last 6 sts, k6.

Row 5: Colour A, knit all sts.

Row 6: Colour B, sl 4, * k5 - wrapping yarn twice around needle for each st, sl 1; repeat from * to last 3 sts, sl 3.

Row 7: Colour B, sl 4, * aster flower, sl 1; repeat from * to last 3 sts, sl 3.

Row 8: Colour A, k4, * k5, knit next stitch with the loose strand behind; repeat from * to last 9 sts, k9.

Row 9: Colour A, knit all sts.
