Crochet Daffodil Granny Square

The squares are worked in the round. You do not need to turn your work after each row and you continue working in the same direction as before.

For the first stitch on each row: Chain 1 to move up to the next round if the round starts with double crochet. Chain 2 if the round starts with a half treble crochet, and chain 3 if the round starts with a treble crochet. These chains count as the first stitch in the row

Use Violet or Raspberry
Round 3a: Work in FLO for this round. (2dc) in each stitch. Fasten off. (36)
Use Parma Violet or Pale Rose
Round 3b: Work in BLO for this round. 2dc, (2dc). 6 times.
Round 4: dc, skip 1, (2tr, 2dtr, 3-ch-picot, 1dtr, 2tr), skip 1. 6 times. Fasten off. (6 petals).
Use Sage
Round 5: (dc, 3-ch-picot, dc, 5-ch-picot, dc, 3-ch-picot) into dc between petals, ch 4 behind petals. 6 times. Fasten off (12 small and 6 large leaves).
Use Hint of Silver
Round 6: dc in picot on top of petal, ch 1, tr in picot on top of first small leave, ch 1, dc in picot on top of large leaf, ch 1, tr on top of picot of last small leaf, ch1. 6 times. (24 stitches and 24 ch-1-sp).
On this round, if you have a very tight tension, you may find that you need to always ch 2 instead of ch1.
Round 7: dc (2dc), in ch-1-sp. 24 times. (72)
Round 8: 4dc, 3htr, 2tr, ch1, 2tr, 3tr, 4dc. 4 times. (72 and 4 ch-1-sp)
